Our Services
Energy Efficiency
We work closely with our partners ABB to ensure everything we do is as sustainable as possible. We have many practices in place that enable us to be mindful of our environmental impact, as well as helping our clients to achieve the same.
Energy Efficiency
Plant Audits
ABB’s energy efficiency experts run an on-site assessment to identify potential savings for energy consumption.
Based on this audit, representatives of management and engineering from the customer and ABB review the energy efficiency potential and define a priority plan for implementing the measures. You may see a saving potential between 5% - 20% of the current energy consumption, meaning up to 8% of overall efficiency!
Energy Efficiency
Drives Application
A small reduction in the speed of pumps and fans can make a big reduction in the energy consumption. Running machinery at half speed may consume as little as 1/8th of the energy compared to one running at full speed.
By employing variable speed drives on centrifugal pumps, instead of throttling or damping, the energy bill can be reduced by as much as 50%, also helping to reduce NOx and CO2 emissions.
Key Benefits
-
Cut energy waste and costs
Identify energy intensive applications, find ways to cut energy waste and obtain an estimate of potential cost savings, whilst boosting efficiency and improving your facility’s sustainability.
-
Reduce Co2 Emissions
Discover potential CO2 emission reductions, the benefit towards meeting local environmental regulations and how it can help to meet your company’s sustainability goals.
-
Lower total cost of ownership
See the rapid payback from investing in high-efficiency motors and drives and the significant impact on the total cost of ownership of reducing energy consumption.
-
Minimal Disruption
An appraisal is carried out without any impact on operations. New equipment recommended by the appraisal can be installed during routine maintenance shutdowns, thereby minimising any disruption to production.
Which approach is right for you?
Deciding on the right Energy Appraisal starts by meeting an expert who will learn about your processes and help identify those applications which may be wasting most energy. Based on your inventory of motors and drives, the outcome determines which Energy Appraisal works best for you: the standard appraisal or the digital appraisal aimed at users embracing Smart Sensor technology.
Digital appraisal
Digital Powertrain data collection.
Data automatically collected from Smart Sensors connected to assets. Smart Sensors monitor assets regularly, allowing for more frequent energy assessments which may reveal hidden opportunities.
Standard appraisal
Application-specific data collection.
Data from motor and application, including load profile, site conditions, etc. is manually collected through either a site visit or by customers forwarding the information to MKE Engineering Group.
