Pump Repair Transformations

In the world of industrial machinery, the efficient functioning of pumps is paramount to the smooth operation of various processes. However, even the most steadfast of machines can face challenges over time.  At MKE, we can transform these pumps, not only resuscitating its functionality but elevating it to newfound heights of efficiency and reliability.

  • This KSB AMACAN pump was removed using a contract lift and brought back to the workshop using a lorry.

  • The pump’s suction side was full of foreign body, it was then stripped and inspected. Foreign body was found wrapped around the lower mechanical seal and the outer seal casing O ring.

  • The power cables were damaged and needed to be replaced.

  • Water ingress into stator winding, which was chemically cleaned and placed in the stoving oven.

  • On the following day, the winding was electrically tested, Baker tested and passed.

A basic repair kit was fitted, comprising of the following:

  • Drive and non drive end bearings
  • Mechanical seal set
  • Full O ring kit
  • 2 x terminal boards
  • 1 x bearing housing
  • 1 x outer seal casing O ring
  • 1 x 20M power cable
  • 1 x 20M tele cable
  • Machine and sleeve mechanical seals stationery seat.

  • Machine and sleeve the pump shaft due to the mechanical seal area being undersize.

  • The pump shaft was straightened as it was slightly bent.

  • The impeller and motor was balanced to G6.3 or better with the power cables replaced.

  • The pump seal chamber pressure was tested and we filled the mechanical seal chamber with oil.

  • The pump went through a test run in the test bay, and was then cleaned and painted to a standard shade, ready to be returned to the customer.
